JP Morgan Notified American Government About Over $1 Billion in Epstein-Linked Transactions Possibly Connected to Trafficking Operations

Recent court documents confirm that America's largest bank filed a SAR in 2019 alerting federal authorities about more than $1 billion in transactions connected to the convicted sex offender that may have been connected to trafficking activities.

Bank's Comprehensive Documentation of Questionable Activity

The banking giant identified approximately 4,700 transactions totaling over $1 billion that were possibly linked to human trafficking reports involving the financier, according to the newly released legal records.

The report was submitted only a few weeks after Epstein's death in a Manhattan detention facility and also highlighted electronic payments made by the financier to Russian banks.

Prominent Figures Identified in Report

The SAR named several prominent business figures and persons in connection with the flagged transactions, including:

  • Leon Black, who departed from the private equity firm in 2021
  • Glenn Dubin, a prominent investment professional
  • The noted attorney, acting as one of Epstein's lawyers
  • Trusts controlled by billionaire businessman Leslie Wexner

This documentation specifically identified $65 million in electronic payments from the 2000s era that seemed to transfer between various financial institutions linked to the Wexner-controlled entities.

Judicial and Governmental Scrutiny

JP Morgan's long-standing association with Epstein has become a focus of significant judicial examination and political attention.

The unsealed documents were included in legal proceedings from 2023 filed by the American territory, where the financier maintained a private island and conducted most of his financial affairs.

Furthermore, victims of trafficking by Epstein also were involved in the legal action, which the banking institution eventually settled.

Bank's Statement and Oversight Background

An official representative for JP Morgan stated that the release of the SARs demonstrates the institution had notified oversight authorities about Epstein appropriately.

The representative emphasized: "The SARs verify what was previously suspected: the bank submitted reports about the financier promptly, and specifically when it exited Epstein from the bank in 2013 – and consistently between 2013 and 2019, as required."

She added: "There is no indication that anyone in the government or investigative agencies responded to those reports for years."

Individual Responses and Judicial Status

Spokespeople for the identified persons have issued different statements regarding their mention in the documentation:

  • The hedge fund manager's spokesperson asserted that the transactions in question were unrelated to Epstein's crimes
  • Alan Dershowitz claimed the only funds he received from the financier were for legal services
  • Leon Black's representative chose not to respond

It is important to note, none of the individuals identified in the documentation have been charged with crimes in connection to Epstein.
