Paris Saint-Germain Defeats Marseille on Penalties to Claim Trophee des Champions Super Cup in Kuwait.

PSG has now won the prestigious cup on fourteen different occasions.

The Parisian giants required a dramatic leveler followed by a perfect spot-kick decider to overcome Marseille in the Gulf and secure a record-extending fourth consecutive French Super Cup title.

The European champions appeared to be coasting towards a straightforward triumph in the match featuring the French league winners and the French Cup holders after Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring early on.

Yet, the southern French side fired two times in the closing moments to seize a shock lead. First, the English forward converted from the spot-kick, before the defender inadvertently turned the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a breathtaking turn of events, the Portuguese striker snatched a crucial equaliser in the dying moments to send the contest into a deciding shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Lucas Chevalier then emerged as the key figure, saving decisive attempts from O'Riley and Traore.

In the shootout, Goncalo Ramos, the midfielder, the full-back, and the young talent all converted with composure for Paris Saint-Germain to seal a convincing penalty victory.

Now 14-time winners Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 runners-up Marseille after completing a domestic double, have now lifted this trophy for the twelfth time in the past thirteen years.
